LJ 1022 not working under Snow Leopard + latest driver

Is HP going to respond to this question?

Is HP ever going to release fixed drivers for this printer?

Or should I now go out and buy a replacement (non-HP) printer?

and should I continue to tell all my friends / family / colleges / online contacts how poor HP support is, and how they should avoid your products?

To be fair, isn't it Apple that is most responsible?  They came out with Snow Leopard and wrote it in such a way, HP's drivers needed to be completely re-written.  Unfortunately, because of Apple Computer's decision, we have to appeal to HP for a fix.

If you read the 'Ever wonder what a printer driver is?' thread on this forum, HP basically admits putting off writing new driver code for as long as possible by engineering and tweaking existing settings to work with new printers. Now a change has been made which isn't backwards compatible, they find themselves with a lot of work to do.

They should have been keeping their printer codebase up to date all this time... not trying to save some money by patching this old code.

almost 6 months of Snow Leopard and no drivers from HP!

As a business company you completely fail on this. I hope you see this in your income-numbers as well and people start realizing that HP is no longer a reliable company.

All people around me stopped using HP and switched to Samsung/Brother or another brand which is able to supply working drivers. HP was good, yes. But that was 9 years ago in the 90s. And the 90s are over.

SITUATION UPDATE:

HP Printer Drivers for Mac OS X v10.6 v2.3 +Mac OS X 10.6.2

+HP LaserJet 1022

= NOT WORKING!!!

Prints the first page and then all I get is a blank page. And the three LEDs start blinking like crazy in unison.

HP, you fail! Are your devs on crack?!?

Has anyone from HP responded to this thread? I'm now in the same boat. Old Mac laptop died, bought MacBook Pro. HP 1022 a good printer, but they don't work together. Flashing lights, etc.

If you just want to get the printer to work, consider using the old driver as explained in my post from 11-02-2009 06:55 PM. It has worked flawlessly for me and I understand that it has also worked for others.
