LJ 1022 not working under Snow Leopard + latest driver [ Edited ]

Mac OS X 10.6.8 arrived 2011-06-23. Still no wroking drivers from HP. Let's see what Lion does, when it arrives next month.

P.S.: More than 90 posts and no action from HP. Talking about ignoring your paying customers.

Hi all

I've OX 10.7.1 Lion and the method posted by Cytocrome-C doesn't work !!!

-Install the drivers (from the pkg-file).

-Open the printer settings in the system preferences.

-Then remove the old installation(s) by marking them and clicking on the (-)-sign

-Add a new printer by clicking on the (+)-sign

-Make sure that you chose the driver "HP LaserJet 1022"-driver and not the HP LaserJet 1022, 1.1.0.182" driver.

This method worked well with Snow leopard ... but witn Lion Doesn't work .... I can't choose the driver "HP LaserJet 1022" but only HP LaserJet 1022, 1.2.0.x" driver ... so the problem persist

I've also deleted the folder HP from Lybrary/Printers before the method, but when I restart the system - I ONLY CAN SELECT HP LaserJet 1022, 1.3.0.261 or gunterprint

What's most interesting, is the fact, that after 10 pages of user complains, HP remains silent. They completely fail. Now they killed WebOS and computer business. Wow. Leo Apotheker really knows how to ruin a company.

Guys, if you need help saving your company - give me a job at HP.

Since lately my Samsung Multi-Function-Printer died I'm thinking about replacing it with a Brother DCP-7055. Brother has a history of quickly delivering working drivers for Mac OS X. So I think it is ok, to recommend a printer from that brand.

Also Samsung had 3 years of warrently at the time I bought my now broken SCX-4521f. Today they only have 2 years of warrently - which sucks, because I had to make use of that  warrently twice in the period of that 3 years. Brother still has 3 years of warrently. I'm located in germany - so I'm not sure if this applies to the US as well.

HP often only has 1 year of warrently afaik. So you see where this is going.

Hi together,

This is my personal some-sort-of-work-around, that I just discovered. Don´t know, how long it works, and whether it will work for others. But as it is simple, you just might give it a try:

I am working with the finder version: 10.6.8

In the printer menu, and there under "printing options", I changed the printing resolution to 600dpi, and saved that setting.

In this resolution, I have no problems.  When I return to "Fastres" oder "Prores" resolution, the described problems start again, and they go away again, when I return to 600dpi.

Ok, 600 dpi resolution might not have been the reason, for what I have bought the printer, but for some tasks, it´s ok, and at least I can still use the printer (and the laser cartridge in it ;-) hopefully for another while for these tasks...

It´s not so difficult:

Every application from which you want to print from , has  a "print" menu under the menu "file". If you open this, you have several options to control the printing process, for instance "Copies and pages", " layout" and so on, and one option  is called "printer options", and there you can change the resolution.

( I am not working with english language system, so I hope, i translated the option names right.)
