Scanner is not found in system. Printer is working fine. Driver version is 1.3.0.261

Sorry, but according to this only printing is supported in 10.6 and 10.7: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669#HP

Just to add, the product indeed no longer support scanning while using Lion, as you may also find listed by the HP support document below:

As a workaround you may try checking out any 3rd party scanning solution as Vuescan, which support the scanner.
