Laserjet CP1525 color -creating printer profiles?

Why is there no printer utility support for Mac OS? I see what is available in Windows and need the same sort of thing for Mac. You can't expect someone to open the browser based utility and change the color density each time you use a different paper etc. I want to create a printer profile to use with various programs (Lightroom, photoshop etc). Is this in the works? Is their some other software that I need?
