MAC10.5, Photosmart C309a, Printing to CD/DVD troubles

I have searched the forums and found lots of discontented users and no solutions for problems similar to mine. I hope that someone will be able to help me find a solution.

Using the software HP Photosmart Studio, I create a new label for my printable DVD, I set the tray to CD/DVD, I set the paper size to CD/DVD 120,load the DVD in the tray and insert it to the green line as indicated in the manual, and then hit print and I get one of two messages repeatedly:

1. The tray is open. Close the tray to continue.

2. An error occurred when setting the default paper type for printing. You may not get the desired print output if you continue to print.

I have spent hours trying to troubleshoot this issue as the CD/DVD printing service is one of the main reasons I bought  this model.

Thanks in advance to anyone who has any advice.

Cheers,

M.

I have the exact same problem under Snow Leopard. The printer refuses to recognize that I have the page setup set to CD/DVD and thinks I have photo paper as my media. I get the exact same messages. I have spent all day trying to figure this out with no luck. There are no directions in detail on making paper selection that I can find and the tutorial tells how to insert the disc, but no details on print set-up. Very frustrating. I am getting the same two messages.

Re: MAC10.5, Photosmart C309a, Printing to CD/DVD troubles

when I try to create an image for the CD it selects only the center part with no ability to crop and move.  do I really need to crop and downsize to 72dpi prior to this step??
