I have the HP Photosmart 7510 and I was trying to install the drivers on MacBook Pro. Since I am using Mac OS X Lion it is requiring me to download the setup drivers on the hp support site, but when I look there wasn't a driver for the Mac OS v10.7. Maybe I over looked it but could someone please help in directing me to the correct drivers for me new printer

The full-featured software is not yet available for Lion, sorry. In the mean time you can download the basic drivers (print & scan) from Apple here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907
If you are connecting via USB, just plug it into your Mac and it will download the software it needs. If you are doing a wireless connection, from the front of the printer: Setup > Network > Wireless Setup Wizard to add it to your network, then add the printer with the '+" sign in System Preferences > Print and Scan.
Say "Thanks" by clicking the Kudos star in the post that helped you.

Hello. Can you please help with scanning? I've added the Photosmart 7510 to my wireless network and it shows up in Lion Print/Scan Preferences. It does not have a "scan" button, does not show up Image Capture, Preview "Import from Scanner" (even after I chosen include network devices) or in HP Utility. Software Update says I'm up to date on everything but to make sure, I used your link to download and install those HP drivers. No luck.
I really need either scan to email, scan to evernote or wireless scan to computer. I was assured by the salesman that this machine would do that. If not, I only have a week to return it. Glad for any help you can offer. Thanks.

Just spent an hour with HP support. Dowloaded latest Apple HP drivers (2.7.2), and there is NO scanning capability that I can see. The HP tech actually said that the webscan feature using a browser should be sufficient to qualify as Mac 10.7 compatible. For real? I'm an Apple Certified consultant, so I have a bit of technical know-how. I've tried just about everything up my sleeve and cannot get this 10.7.2 iMac to recognize this printer as a scanner. Maybe I'm missing something obvious (possible) but I'm beginning to think HP marketing got ahead of their tech support here when they decided to print 10.7 compatible on the box.

To scan in Lion after installing the Apple drivers 2.7.2, go to System Preferences and click on Print & Scan in the Hardware row. Click on the scan side of the Print/Scan button over the type of printer you have. For me that is "Photosmart 3300 series". Click "Open Scanner..." under the type of printer you have. Click on Scanner in the top right hand corner. The window will change to show a white page on the right and a bunch of settings on the left.
If your printer is on, you will see Scanner warming up in the left half of the window. Before you click scan in the lower right hand corner, set all the setting buttons as you want them. BE SURE to "Scan to:", "Name:", and "Format:" When you click scan, the image will saved as that file in that folder in that format. If you want multiple pages in the same file, insert them on the bed, and click scan again.
This is not as flexible as HP Scan, which allowed you to make changes in orientation and page order before you saved the file.
I was going to load HPPrinterDrivers2.8, but I demurred because we are running our printer as wireless and my wife's computer is still on Snow Leopard, and she sees no benefit in moving to Lion.

I wonder how long it will actually take for HP to fully support Apple platforms as the rep claimed on 12/4/2011.

I did all that and havent been able to scan a photo to my computer yet. I would have never bought this had I known I was going to have so much trouble setting it up. Why bundle software with it that wont install. Nobody at the store knew anything and I clearly stated that I was going to use it on my Macs....
