My MAC Book can't print in color in my HP Officejet 4500 printer, why?

My MAC Book can't print in color in my HP Officejet 4500 printer, why? It work okay before but know only black and white.

Does it print in color if you do a copy from the front panel of the 4500?  If so, than you may have accidently selected black and white or grayscale under color options in the driver.  Look in Paper Type and Quality for a little arrow with "Color Options" next to it.  Click on that arrow and make sure it isn't set on Greyscale or Black and White.

Sure,  it's no problem. 

Click on File in the upper lefthand corner of your application window.

Nexy click on Print.

That opens up the Print window.

In the middle of that window you will see a drop down menu,

Click on it and select Paper Type and Quality

On the next window, find Color Options, and click on the little arrow, that will open up where you can see if you have Greyscale or Black and White selected in the Color dropdown.  Change it to Colorsmart RGB, or something similar.

OK,  Now I know where you are.  You see Preview?  Click on that, and from the menu,  then select Paper Type/Quality.

On the new window, click on the arrow next to Color Options.

Hmm, OK.  Click on Printer Features.  What do you see there?
