My Photosmart 5514e used w/ MacBook Air does not have a HP desktop icon to Print, Copy, or Scan

When I used my HP Photosmart 5510e All-in-One printer with my Windows XP:

• I had a HP Icon on my desktop wherein I could Print, Copy, and Scan.
• And and in Printing I could "Select" from a document what I wanted to Print.
• Also I could scan a document and add it as an "Attachment" in an Email.

Now I am using a MacBook Air. But the only features I can find to use on my Dock is a Icon for Print, and one for Scan.

Are these same features available for the Windows XP also available for the AppleBook Air?

Thanks for your suggestion. I downloaded the HP Photosmart Full Feature Software and Drivers - Mac OS X v10.5, v10.6, v10.7 which allows me to Scan when I use the Icon. But I can not ask the printer to Copy, or to Print using "Seleted text" to print.

OK, will the printer print (like a whole page)?  I am not sure the 'print selected text' is available on Mac OS.

Yes it will print the whole page and I can select to print both sides. But it will not print or ask to print what I have selected to print from the document.

I think it is a limitation of the OS X drivers, sorry.
