I just bough an iMac yesterday and when I set up the printer for wireless use, and tried to scan a picture, it wouldn't work. The printer works fine wirelessly and I haven't set up a fax because I really don't need it right now. When I try to scan a picture it gives me the error message "an unknown error has occurred". I can hear the scanner move, but there is no picture on the screen. Has anyone else had this problem before or have any ideas on how to fix it??? Please help!!
Thanks

What I am doing is I place the picture in the printer. And I open the HP Scan Pro, and click new scan. I can hear the scanner scan but a message comes up and says "sorry, an unknown error has occurred" What directions do you use to scan a picture into your mac?
Thank you so much for helping!

Oh, you have Snow Leopard, correct? Don't use Scan Pro, use Image Capture or Preview.
If this does not work, then you need to uninstall the software that you presumably loaded from the printer CD (it is for 10.5 and earlier only). Do this by running the uninstaller at Applications, Hewlett-Packard.
After you do that, download the latest drivers (in case the uninstaller wiped them out - it did on my Macs) from here.
