Network host is busy

I have a brand new Photosmart D110. Wireless appeared to install correctly, printer is visible on network, driver installed from the factory disk. I am on a MacBook, OSX 10.5.8

I can see the printer through the HP and web utlity pages, see toner levels, etc. But I cannot print a page and cannot print a test page. I get the error Network host 'HP7433EE' is busy; will retry in xx seconds..

I have printed files from by using email to web feature but can't make it work wirelessly. What can I do?

Re: Network host is busy

I reinstalled using the USB method. I installed IP via USB instead of accepting the Bonjour conection. Now it will print a test page, but same host busy error accessing via wireless.

Re: Network host is busy

Reset the printing system:

- Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
- Right (control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
- Select the plus sign to re-add it. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.

I have the same problem and tried your solution but it didn't solve anything. Same situation still.

Re: Network host is busy

Tell me about your network - router brand/model, encryption type (WEP, WPA, etc) and ISP type (DSL, Cable, etc).

Re: Network host is busy

I just had this same problem. Actually I've had mine hooked up for a coupla' years and then it started not printing, and showing that message in the queue.

Here's how I fixed it:

-- I took the suggestion about going to Sys Prefs/Printer Prefs, right click on printer and select "reset printing system.  This will wipe all your printers, which you then have to reinstall.

--  My printer is connected to my network wirelessly and has a static IP address. Under "Add a Printer" dialog, I select "IP" and under "protocol" I selected "HP Jetdirect socket."  And then I made sure to select the specific HP driver for my model, instead of using generic driver.

Previously, when I had wiped my printers, I had selected "IPP" under "Protocol."  I don't know what caused this to freak out all of a sudden, but this is what fixed it for me.  Good luck!

Re: Network host is busy

I had this exact same problem - brand new D110 with an older MacBook Pro 15" (A1150).

I installed on my Windows laptop, test printed, everything fine.  Put the install CD in the MacBook - no printers listed in the selection menu.

Downloaded latest driver version (on 11/30/2010), same problem.  Manually added the printer with the generic driver - this allowed me to find/install the printer driver, even though I couldn't install it by adding the IP.

Once installed I thought I was golden, but had the same problem as above - Network host 'x.y.z.a' is busy," etc.

Reset printing system, added printer with settings from julianabr's post, everything works fine now.  Thanks!
