Oh it will print ok. Apple has released an updated driver for it via software updates .. trouble is NO SCANNER FUCNTION
hp has updated other printers.. PLease update teh drivers and utilities for the psc 2510 and osx snow leopard .. it worked great before osx 10.6

Same problem here. Printing on Snow Leopard is ok, but not able to scan. Don't want to replace psc2510 because it's working fine and replacing it because OS doesn't support it is rediculous.
Please update driver so scanning works again on latest OSX !!!

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669#HP << Apple site oddly lists the PSC 2500 as supported under 10.6 for scanning purposes but they list it with the * asterisk which means vendor supplied update, however, there is not a HP 10.6 update for the PSC 2500.
Instead the Apple Hp Printer Update 2.3 is what you need and you would scan using Preview or Image Capture.

If anything, you don't have the Apple updates properly installed.
1- No HP software or drivers needed, make sure all HP software is uninstalled and HP folder from Apps is gone!
2- Then check for Apple updates again,,, HP Printer Update 2.3 from Apple is what you need. Manual download.
