OSx 10.6 won't set up for wireless printing on laserjet P1102w gets stuck at HTML config HELP!

MacBook Air running OS 10.6.8.  I've installed the printer as a USB printer and it prints just fine.  Followed the directions to switch it from a USB printer to a wireless printer and it is not working.  I've gone to system prefs-print utility-print & fax-open print queue-open print utility - then clicked on HTML Config.  That's where it gets stuck.  When I click on HTML Config a new browser window opens and then nothing else happens....

Thanks for your help!

Re: OSx 10.6 won't set up for wireless printing on laserjet P1102w gets stuck at HTML config HELP!

Hi,

Please try cleaning the cache within Safari,

I did seen some strange behaviour affected by the browser memory:

  1. open Safari.
  2. From Safari menu, click Reset Safari.
  3. Make sure to check 'Clear History', 'Close all Safari windows', Reset all location warnings' and 'Remove all website data'.
  4. Now try accessing the HTML Config and check for any change.

Please let me know if that helps,

Shlomi

I tried your trick with Safari, then went back in and followed the same path to HTML config.  When I clicked it, Firefox opened, not Safari.  This is what came up on the Firefox page:

Re: OSx 10.6 won't set up for wireless printing on laserjet P1102w gets stuck at HTML config HELP!

With OSX 10.6.8, Chrome browser 18.0.1025.163, the utility failed opening the HTML Config file with errors:

line 6, col 47: Entity 'nbsp' not defined and

line 12, col 8: Opening and ending tag mismatch: link line 0 and head

Work around:

Opened Firefox

Copy the URL from Chrome (localhost:5050/SSI/index.htm)

Paste the URL into Firefox

Proceeds normally from there.

Also having this issue. See no resolution from HP Experts. Does this printer just not print wirelessly?
