Re: Office Jet 7410 and Snow Leopard

Hi Spurge,

You installed the latest drivers from HP download site?

Currently there is no driver/software available for HP OJ 7410  for Snow leopard. Currently you have to use only the integrated drivers from Snow leopard.

So you should uninstall this software using the HP Uninstaller.

You should please decide which connection you want to use (usb OR network=Bonjour).

Remove alll items from printer list (or better reset printing system).

Restart your mac.  If the printer is connected per usb (directly to the computer) the printer should occure in printer list (maybe buy asking you to install drivers per software update).

If the printer is connected per Network you should add the printer per Bonjour (maybe also asking to downlaod and install drivers).

Please come back with your experiences. (in case of problems please with detailed description/messages/error messages).

And please do NOT install any HP Software which is not dedicated designed for MacOS 10.6.

Re: Office Jet 7410 and Snow Leopard

Hi Trevor,

which printer model are you using?

Did you run Apple software update? -Update to MacOS 10.6.1 AND hp drivers update should be installed.

Maybe not all types of paper are supported with 2nd paper tray!? Did you try "plane paper" and normal paper size (us letter or A4)?

Re: Office Jet 7410 and Snow Leopard

Just FYI here are the party lines on this and most HP printers and everything MacFrk is saying is on target.

This one says the 7400 series is included in the Snow Leopard from Apple and is not supported by HP download stuff anymore:

This one tells you officially how to configure the printers in particular suggesting that if you need to use IP, instead of an autodiscovery protocol like Bonjour, then use JetDirect instead of LPD or IPP.  Which interface one uses can affect the printer functionality that is available I believe.  Like LPD is an ancient protocol strictly for outputting jobs to a printer:

Good luck,

John Brady
