Hi have a OJ 5610 that has always worked fine. I have a new MAC with 10.6.2 and now the printer will not work. I finally got the scanner to work but get a message "Error/ library /printers/hp/cups/inkjet7.driver/contents/MacOS/in
The icon of the printer says Printer Ready.
I reinstalled the printer software yesterday from the OS CD but it still does not work.
Thanks for any help.

There could be several things going on here. First, you said you installed software from the OS CD....did you mean from the printer's CD or OS X?
If there is any HP software on your Mac, let's remove it:
Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard/ click on HP Uninstaller
Click on Continue
Highlight your device on the left pane
Hold the Ctrl, Opt and Apple keys and click on Uninstall
There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall ALL hp software. (At this point, if you continue, any HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled, which is why we don't run this thing all the time)
Let the scrubber do it's thing.
Now, run a Software Update.
Next, remove and re-install the printer in System Preferences, Print & Fax. Select the printer and click '-', then click '+' and add the printer.
You really do not need software since 10.6 has both print and scan drivers built in. Scan from the front of the printer does not work with 10.6, but scanning from Preview or Image Capture apps does.
