Officejet J3680 & Snow Leopard Mac X 10.6 - PRINTER driver available?

I upgraded from Mac X 10.5 to Snow Leopard 10.6. My HP Officejet J3680 fax/printer worked fine under 10.5. With 10.6, the only driver shown through Apple's update is for the FAX only, not the printer. I can't find a 10.6 PRINTER driver for the J3680. Does anyone know if a J3600 series printer driver for 10.6 is available & where to find it? Or what would work as an alternative with the J3680 and Snow Leopard? The generic driver does not work. The printer under 10.6 will indicate on the Macbook that the document is printing, but nothing actually happens with the printer. It just sits there. Help, please!

I have the same all in one and, the same problem.

Let me know when we will have a work around for it.

I get the same message about updating the software but it is not available.

I just spent almost 2 days on the phone w Apple and HP. Apple never supplied a patch to HP for the Officejet 3600 series. If they don't, it will force you to get new printers to use w Snow Leopard

Better call Apple and yell now

Have the same problem, so annoying that I can't print no more. They should always assure compatibility, it's not fair that I've to buy new stuff. I hope this gets fixed ASAP.

I fixed the problem.

Went to Office Max and bought a brother MFC-490 wireless for 79.00 on sale.

Couldn't wait for their fix.

The new print drivers are available; I upgraded to Mac OSX 10.6.1, it installed a new HP Print Driver package as well. When I plugged the printer in, it searched for another update, which was found and installed automatically. Glad to have it working again!

I am the original poster. Yes, with the 10.6.1 update, the HP j3600 series print drivers were included. The printer fired right up & works flawlessly. I credit Apple's quick update response after the initial release of 10.6. Snow Leopard is a great OS and takes less space on the hard drive. If you get Snow Leopard 10.6, be sure to run sortware update to add 10.6.1 & you'll be in great shape ...
