Mac OS X 10.6.8
HP Officejet pro 8000 A809

HP Photosmart Studio v. 9.7.4
After upgrading from Tiger to Snow Leopard I lost ability to print BORDERLESS- up until that time I had no problems.
I use HP Photosmart Studio to print but get the same error message each time: "The selected printer does not support any borderless papers. If you print, the maximum printable area of the current paper size will be used."
I downloaded the most current driver after I upgraded and while I was able to print in general- when I attempt to choose BORDERLESS printing it tells me this printer doesn't support it. I have been able to print borderless using Creative Suite Indesign and printing out of that app- but to have lost the functionality of the HP Photosmart Studio is really a drag- since I have to make all sorts of adjustments to make the work-around print.
Is there a way to upgrade Photosmart Studio? or re-boot it? I'm lost and need help.
Thanks

If you still have reminants of the HP software meant for 10.4, you must uninstall the software using the 'scrubber' option. If you have already uninstalled it, reinstall it from the CD, then:
Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard/ click on HP Uninstaller
Click on Continue
Highlight your device on the left pane
Hold the Ctrl, Opt and Cmd keys and click on Uninstall <<<< Scrubber Option
There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall ALL hp software. (At this point, if you continue, any HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
Click Continue and let it finish
Restart your Mac
Now, run a Software Update.
Finally, download and install the "Full Featured" Driver and Software from the "Support & Drivers" link at the top of this page.

Thanks very much for the thorough directions to solve my problem- it took a while but it totally worked and now I have full functionality back Thanks so much.
One comment though- when I was going through the uninstall option the "scrubber option" never appeared - which freaked me out slightly but by then I was committed- and it all proceeded according to plan.
so thanks for your expret assistance!

I have a Photosmart C5180 that is no longer printing borderless. My operating system is Mac OS 10.6. I performed a software update a few weeks ago and now my printer will not print borderless photos. I did not have this problem before. The error message I am getting says "The selected printer does not support any borderless papers. If you print, the maximum printable area of the current paper size will be used." I have uninstalled the printer, re-installed, and installed the most recent full feature driver and software, just as your post recommended. However it will still not print borderless. How do I fix this?
