Officejet Pro 8600 Plus Mountain Lion drivers?? HELP!

I just purchased this new printer 2 weeks ago.  Connected fine wirelessly to my Windows 7 PC but never worked quite right with my MacBook Pro w/OS X Lion.  I uninstalled the software and just setup straight IP printing and that would work sporadically.  Three days ago I installed the developer preview to OS X Mountain Lion.  Basically seems to look and act exactly like Lion with the exception of a few iOS like features.  Anyway, I now sat down to try and re-install the software of the HP site for OS X and I barks at me and said it's not made for this OS.  What could I do to get the software and or driver installed?  I really would like to utilize all the functionality of this new printer such as the scan feature.

If anyone could please help it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Dave

Also to note the MacBook never saw my printer in a list only if I directed it to the IP address.

Re: Officejet Pro 8600 Plus Mountain Lion drivers?? HELP!

Oh, I don't think HP has released Mountain Lion drivers, yet.  Did you try to install this?: support.apple.com/kb/DL907

If it does not work, you could try to reset the printing system, but I doubt it will do any good:

- Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
- Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
- Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.

If all this fails, you may want to go back to Lion.  It is advised that Mountain Lion be installed on a separate drive and only booted for testing.  I don't think it is ready for you to use it as your main system, yet.

Re: Officejet Pro 8600 Plus Mountain Lion drivers?? HELP!

downloaded the software from the link.  But with mountain lion, there is still a problem scanning a multipage document to pdf and saving to a computer--it only scans the first page.  However, if you scan to pdf email, it will scan all the pages.
