Last night I tried to print a the odd pages of a three-page PDF document (MacPro G4, OS X Tiger, 10.4.11). The first page printed, the second didn't; I was informed that the print cartridge was incompatible. How can that happen in the middle of a document, when the cartridge has been working fine for weeks? Stumped.
This morning I tried again; it seems that the print cartridge is incompatible, and I can't see ink levels for either cartridge, as the Printer Setup Utility says that there is only one cartridge installed—obviously untrue, as the same two cartridges that printed the first page are still intact.
Help?

re-initialization process for PSC-1350 from HP Chat support - it may work for similar models
remove cartridges
clean contacts of cartridges and printer with lint free cloth
do not reinstall cartridges
leave ink door open
unplug printer
hold down on/off button for 1 minute
plug printer back in, it should be on (always install cartridges with printer on)
reinstall cartridges
close door
pray that it prints again
