Hi.
Following the last HP Driver Update (Apple Software Update) for Snow Leopard, Scanning stopped working --- Opening HP Scan Pro application (or any other HP Scanning utility/application I had installed) would cause a crash report (for some driver or service, not the application itself) and from then on, I'd get a "Scanner not found/connected" message from these applications, until the next restart.
I was advised to remove (Uninstall) all HP software, then reinstall the newest. So I ran the HP Uninstaller, which removed everything (Drivers and applications). After that, I followed HP's recommendation of adding the printer, and causing the drivers to be located, downloaded and installed from Apple Software Update, and I did.
However --- ONLY DRIVERS were installed. I lost all my HP Applications !!!! (HP Device manager, HP Stitch, HP Scan Pro, and all the huge bunch of other software).
I Can't find it anywhere! neither on Apple's site, nor on HP's support site. All Software&driver download links say it all should come from the Apple Snow Leopard update mechanism, yet there are only drivers there.
WHAT SHOULD I DO????
Thanks for any hint/idea/insight/actual download link...

I have upgraded to Mac OS 10.66. The scanner software for my HP Photosmart C7283 All-in-One no longer works and HP has a message posted suggesting using Image Capture instead. However, this doesn't give me the setting options (scan quality, file type etc) that I had with the HP Scan Pro software. How can I get these controls? Where can I get the proper HP driver for my system?
Thanks.

I shall now answer part 1 of my own question: I have found the dialogue box which allows me to set the controls in Image Capture. Re: part 2 - will there also be an HP software update for Snow Leopard?
Thanks.

If you are using Snow Leopard and have HP software for pre-Snow Leopard (either from a CD not marked as compatible with 10.6 or you recently upgraded to Snow Leopard and had the HP software on your Mac before you upgraded - even if you did a standard uninstall of the old software or installed new software over the top of it) you must uninstall the software using the 'scrubber' option:
Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard/ click on HP Uninstaller
Click on Continue
Highlight your device on the left pane
Hold the Ctrl, Opt and Cmd keys and click on Uninstall <<<< Scrubber Option
There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall ALL hp software. (At this point, if you continue, any HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
Click Continue and let it finish
Restart your Mac
Now, run a Software Update.
Finally, download and install the "Full Featured" Driver and Software from the "Support & Drivers" link at the top of this page.
