Thank you so much HP for the brick that I now need to take to the electronics recycler as you developed a printer that is no longer compatible with Macs.  Of the 2358 printers that you make, you had to pick the photosmart (smart?) 7550 to use some non standard way of connecting via USB.  Way to go.

 

Lost a customer for life. Not that I was really likely to buy another HP since this printer was merely average quality, but this was the final straw.

 

FYI to others on this forum - I did try the Linux solution but it doesn't work for just a few models including this one.
