Photosmart C309a Series Not Scanning After Mac OS X 10.6 Installed

I have just installed the new operating system of Mac OS X 10.6.3 on my laptop to find that now my all-in-one HP device will not register its own scanner! I have followed the instructions on this website and deleted the device and downloaded the updated software and whilst it all installed nicely, I am still unable to click on the scan option! It is saying there is no scanner device! Is there a solution to this irritating problem? Because I am about ready to trash all devices--including my laptop!

Hi,
Please make sure to update the latest update and then check for any change:
- Click the Apple icon.
- Click Software Update.
- Click Show Details
- Select the HP Printer Drivers 2.9 and then click Install.
Reboot ypour Mac and check for any change.
Additionallty, I would recommend you to update the Mac OS X to the latest 10.6.8 version, as 10.6.3 is very out-dated.
Please let me know of any change,

Hi Shlomi,
I have tried the update but it seems to be all current. I did not get the "HP Printer Drivers 2.9", however when I installed Mac OS X 10.6.3 it went through updates and it may have been a part of that. If I update to the latest version of Mac OS X 10.6.8, will the problem be resolved? I am about to call Apple as I only just purchased the 10.6.3 version from them and was not aware that there was a more recent operating system.

A while back, I installed operating system 10.6.8 on my Mac, and since then, the printer AND scanner on my Photosmart All-in-One C309a were not working properly. I re-installed the drivers from the HP web site, and voila, the printer now works. However, the scanner still does not work, a spinning wheel in the 'Choose an HP Scannin Device' pop up window displays 'found 0 devices'. Any help with this issue would be much appreciated, as I had no previous problems with this all-in-one, and REALLY need my scanner to work for my job!
