I'm running Mac OS 10.4 and my computer is not recognizing the scanner on my Photosmart D110. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers several times. I have restarted both the computer and printer several times. When I click "scan" on the printer and tell it where to go, nothing happens (regardless of the destination). When I open the HP Scan application, it says "0 devices found". Please help!

Oh, maybe try to start a scan from the Mac. Look in Applications > Hewlett-Packard for the scanning app.
Once you do this, establishing scan communication between the printer and Mac, it may enable the scan button on your printer to find your Mac.
If not, you can always just initiate scans from your Mac. That is what I do and I find it to be very efficient once you get in the workflow groove....

Perhaps I should have made that clearer....I have tried BOTH starting the scan from the printer and from the Mac. I have tried wireless and wired. The problem seems to be that my computer doesn't see the scanner. Any other suggestions?

Oh, OK sure. Is it connected via USB to your Mac or is it on your wireless network?
In the mean time you could try to reset the printing system:
- Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
- Right (control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
- Select the plus sign to re-add it. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.

I still don't know about the connection method - are you scanning from a USB connection or wireless?

I'm having the same issue. I got this printer/scanner free with my macbook pro, and it's only working as a printer, not as a scanner. When I go to "print and fax system preference" and click on the scan tab, the D110 is listed. However when I click "open scanner" it tries to open a sesion and then says "failed to open a session on the device." There is no usb connection, just a wireless connection. The printing function is working just fine.

Tell me about your network - router brand/model, encryption type (WEP, WPA, etc) and ISP type (DSL, Cable, etc).
