Photosmart P1000 and Mac OS X 10.4

This printer was brilliant back in the day of Win 98 SE and Mac OS 9.  Then the OSs changed.  The driver CD I just purchased from the web site to try to once again print high res photos straight from my mac almost allows me to access the functions I know the printer has.  But not quite.  Why is it that the other, newer models of Photosmart software are not compatible with  the P1000?  I would hope they work better than this neglected one.

For about the same reason you can't get factory parts for a 1950 Cadillac.  Come join us in the 21st century as you are not going to get the software support for your printer you are looking for.  Time to upgrade!!

The Deskjet 970 driver built into Mac OSX 10.4 should be a good match for printing with the Photosmart P1000.  See
