PowerPC error with scan jet 5370c running OSX 10.8 Mt. Lion. Is there a way to get a driver to work anyway?

Hi,

i afraid the scanner is not compatible with Mountain Lion.

The specific model only compatible with a lot older Mac OS versions (Mac OS X 9.x or below)

You may try the 3rd party Vuescan software which compatible with Mountain Lion and seems to support your scanner:

I loaded vuescan which recognizes and runs my other scanners but not the 5370c. I'm wondering if I need to re-install the driver into Mt. Lion?

Hi,

There are no drivers to install as the product no longer supported by Mountain Lion.

The Vuescan application is a 3rd party software which should support the scanner according the information provided by them.

If you have any problem with their software I would recommend you to review the software support documentation or contact the software developer by the provided details below:

This is encouraging thanx. I figure there's a way to keep using my 5370c. First chance I get, I'll work with your suggestion.

The Veuscan help page confirmed my scanner is included and had good tips. Having my scanner already USB tethered when I started the software seems to be the main difference. My first attempt I plugged in the scanner after starting the software. I'm testinging the free application before buying the full application which may work better. So far the free application is a bit unstable and jumps back and forth between default and manual adjustments. The scanner is very slow an initial preview took 7 min but scanner is working.
