Printer cannot find network (iPad)

HP3050A can't find my airport network. Trying to print from IPad -does show printer available in settings

Touch the Wireless button on the front of the printer, choose Print Reports, then printe a Wireless Test.  Does it show being connected to your network?

What Airport are you using?  What version of OS X?  Did the printer ever work on the network?

No, the test shows that I'm not connected.  However, the iPad shows the printer available within the settings, but when I go to print something, no printer can be found.

AirportExtreme is what I'm using.  The iPad is up to date.  I do not have a computer in the house - just the ipad, so I cannot know if the printer works on the network.  I hope this makes sense.

OK, I did quite a bit of homework on this and talked to the Mac team here in HP.  The iPad cannot set up this (and some other HP wireless printers) to connect to your wireless network.  Sorry.

You are going to have to borrow a computer to set up the printer.  Once set up, your iPad can use it just fine.

When you get the computer in your house, first, click the wireless button on the front of the printer and choose Restore Defaults.  You will have an hour from that point to get the printer installed.  Download the latest software for your printer from the "Support & Drivers" link at the top of this page.

Oh, I see.  Yes, I can borrow a laptop to do this (mac) and I'll do what you have suggested.  I really appreciate the homework you did on this.  I had done a couple of hours searching myself and even downloaded a few apps but all to no avail.  

I'll work on your suggestions and let you know if it worked.
