Printer says 'printing' but nothing is happening

This is an issue with the HP Deskjet 4500 Wireless printer. I can successfully send a print job to the printer, the printer then displays 'printing' status on its status window, but nothing happens (the power button also blinks). I've tried to pause/resume the job. I've tried to cancel the job- which then the status goes to 'cancel print' but it stalls in that status. I've tried powering off/on (also stalls in that status), unplugging the printer & letting it reset... and still have the same outcome.

Re: Printer says 'printing' but nothing is happening

Let's reset the printing system:

- Go to System Preferences > Print & Fax
- Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
- Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.

Re: Printer says 'printing' but nothing is happening

Hi, My HP Deskjet 3050 says 'printing' and the on button keeps flashing but nothing is happening.

I've cancelled the document, pressed cancel on the printer, switched off and unplugged, and deleted and reinstalled the printer. I've also tried the windows troubleshoot option.  No change.

Of course this has happened just when I have lots of documents to print! Does anyone know what I can do?

Many thanks
