Printing from iPad2 to Officejet 8500 wireless printer

I have limited printing access to my 8500. I can print some things, but not others. MOST things I try to print come out sort scrunched to one side, looks like a 85 percent squeeze to the right. Can't find any prefs that would change that.  IS there a driver update or some other software patch or upgrade I need for the 8500 to print from my iPad2? Or is terea really good app that would help?  Right now I am using ActivePrint or Printing or iPad.  Is there an iPad setting that I may be missing that is affecting my printing? Anything?

Thanks

Do you have an 8500 or an 8500a? if its an 8500a just make sure web services are enabled and download any product updates.

if your using an 8500 you need to download the hp eprint app from the app store to get that up and running

Ok, did that. Downloaded the eprint app. Got it up and running and it doesn't see the 8500. Now what?

Re: Printing from iPad2 to Officejet 8500 wireless printer

with the 909 (as opposed to the 910) you have to do the printing directly from the eprint app with you touch the action button and hit print, your ipad looks for web service enabled printers, which unfortunatly wasnt introduced untill the 8500a.

you should be able to print most things directly from the eprint app

is your regular computer a pc or a mac?

it could also have something to do with your wireless router (for instance Action Tech's PK5000 doesnt work with HP printers and Mac devices)

Have you tried power cycling everything now that youve gotten the app?

Re: Printing from iPad2 to Officejet 8500 wireless printer

riginal computer is a mac, G5 tower, OSX

But, that shouldn't have any effect on the iPad2. The iPad does not show the printer at all when I try to print right from the app. Router is a Trendnet 631BP. I can get certain things to print, some are squeezed toi the right side, some come out quite well. Just wondered if there are some prefs stored soewhere that I may have overlooked. OR maybe an update for the printer shareware, or drivers, that would help.
