Hi:
Printer: HP Photosmart C7280 All in One
Issues: 1} The colours in all documents and particularly photos print dark. This happens when copying as well though it is worse when printing. This was an issue on my old PC but not as great of a colour differential as on the Mac.
Trouble shooting steps: I calibrated the colour according to directions. Calibrated the printer Alignment, Cleaned the Print Heads. Cleaned the Rollers.
Lightened my photos---This distorted the Contrast Levels and settings.
Used lighter shades for fonts etc in documents. Can't see the colour blend match/contrast well.
Removed and reloaded the printer soft ware from the web site. Calibrated the printer Alignment, Cleaned the Print Heads. Cleaned the Rollers.
2} When printing on envelopes or 4 x 6 and 5 x 7 photopaper from Pages , iPhoto, Adobe Elements and directly from the printer itself. The print is off centre the first 1/4 inch or more {direction of feed} will be cut off.
It doesn't matter what my margins are set for I will end up with a corresponding excess of white space on the opposite ends. The long side edges are off as well but not to the same degree. If I choose borderless print the picture and or text gets enlarged and I loose my preset white boarders. I've tried moving my graphics to compensate and the other end of the picture, text etc is cut off. Note: I'm not getting the issue to that extreme with standard 81/2 by 11 but it is still off centre.
Trouble shooting steps: Reset rollers. Reset margins, Reset printer. Set Margins to 0. Moved my graphics to compensate and the other end of the picture, text etc is cut off and I still end up with the excess white space. Removed and reloaded the printer soft ware from the web site. Calibrated the printer Alignment, Cleaned the Print Heads. Cleaned the Rollers.
Please, advise! ![]()

Hi Roberto:
I am still having the same issues. I do apologize I thought I'd indicated my OS in my first post.
Mac OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard.
The HP Diagnostic Tool you recommended won't work with Mac OS's
I have up-dated the firmware and gone through all the trouble shoot steps. The issues are still unresolved.
If you have any other suggestions I would appreciate them.

I will do some research and will reach to some peers to see if they have seen the issue or better know possible solutions for it. If I find something that may be helpful, I will come back and let you know right aways
