Scanner problems after upgrade to Snow Leopard

I just upgraded to OS X Snow Leopard , and the scanning function on my C6280 All-in-One stopped working . Printing and copying no problem. When I open HP ScanPro and try to scan , I get the message  "Sorry , an unknown error occurred " .

Anyone have any ideas ?

Re: Scanner problems after upgrade to Snow Leopard

After the upgrade to Snow Leopard the HP Device Manager no longer works for scanning.  As well, we can no longer scan direct from the printer to the computer.  I for one am more than unhappy about this having just purchased the unit for these capabilities 2 weeks ago.  I plan to return the unit.

In any case, here's the link to the "work around."

Re: Scanner problems after upgrade to Snow Leopard

I have the exact same problem with the Officejet 6310 All-in-One, which supposedly is compatible with Snow Leopard, according to HP.  It isn't.

Re: Scanner problems after upgrade to Snow Leopard

Well folks , the one thing I found still works is using the Preview function , and selecting "import from scanner " from the pull-down menu . It's not nearly as slick as ScanPro , but at least it works .

Re: Scanner problems after upgrade to Snow Leopard

I have a psc 2410 all  in one.  I too have been bitten by the Snow Leopard.  The print function works but scanning in kaput.  It cannot locate the scanner nor can it initialize it.

The HP Architect on the Apple Support site acknowledges that this device is not supported under 10.6.

Unless a solution is found, I guess the best choice is to restore from Time Machine and go back to Leopard.  The second outcome is to make my next peripheral an Epson device.

I have tried getting the HP software to work under Rosetta... same result... doesn't work.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone with a similar problem that has managed to locate a workaround.

Re: Scanner problems after upgrade to Snow Leopard

I was NOT able to use Preview or Image Capture as a work around to get scanning back on my OJ 4215 under Snow Leopard.  I did have the direct functionality under Leopard.

Re: Scanner problems after upgrade to Snow Leopard

I just want to use my g2410 scanner with snow leopard!!  HP - when will you sort this out?  The driver should have been available in October according to your release schedule:

Re: Scanner problems after upgrade to Snow Leopard

If you go to your Apple > System Preferences then click on the Print & Fax icon, you should then be able to click on your printer and then click the Scan button.  Not as fancy as HP's software, but it gets the job done.
