Snow Leopard Drivers for laserjet p1006

How did you update the driver? Did you get it from HP site or the Apple update program?

For whatever reason, when I had to recently reinstall my Snow Leopard onto my MacBook, my HP Laser Jet P1005 stopped working and gave me an error message the same as the one reported in this thread.

First my computer couldn't find the driver at all - and then when I downloaded the latest driver from HP, it didn't work.

What did work is what is described in the thread. I downloaded the old driver (version 1.0.4) from the recommended site, and installed it, and my printer started working again - I didn't even have to restart my system -

So just to report that this solution still works, and thanks to those who helped me out after a frustrating morning.

Do these drivers allow you to use the 'manual' double-sided feature of the P1006?

The updated driver now is available.  I downloaded and I still can't get the empty paper popup to work right.  If you add paper, it doesn't recognize it.  Any thoughts? Thanks  Ed
