Okay, I am looking particularly for PSC 1600 all-in-one drivers that will work with Snow Leopard
Failing that it would seem sweet knowing what HP devices are supported in Snow Leopard as well as those that will not be supported.
Any links, pointers and so forth appreciated.
EDIT
Note that Snow Leopard does appear to have psc 1600 printer drivers but when it comes to scanning the scanner software returns an "Failed to open a session on the device." error message

Okay and stranger still. PSC 1610 scanner issues hold on both Mac Pro and MacBook Pro both running Snow Leopard.
But a strangeness on MacBook Pro is that Image Zone s-e-e-m-s to work to some extent. For instance it appears that HP Scan will work but HP Scan Pro will not.
I, of course, need HP Scan Pro :-(

I have the same issue with the 1610 and Snow Leopard - The Scan Pro Software crashes - version unknown since it crashes, but i have HP Photosmart Studio 9.6.9.
However Mac Image Capture did scan with the 1610 ok.

I have a similar problem. My PSC 1610 is connected correctly, prints like a charm and even reads memory cards. Only when it comes to scanning, I can't seem to get the device to be found by any program. All documentation says you should use image capture, but this doesn't even give a scan interface, let alone recognize the scan device.
Any ideas ?

I am using at the moment with Leopard Photosmart Studio v. 9.6.9. and Scan Pro. I would like to upgrade to Snow Leopard and would like to understand if Photosmart will be working with it for scanning. I found this HP website, could you explain if can work with Snow Leopard ? Thanks

To Ferro: IF it is the PSC 1610 that you have as well, the drivers for using your product are included in Snow Leopard, so yes you will be able to use your product. The HP applications that have been using on Leopard (10.5), however will not function. This incluses the HP Photosmart Studio, and the HP Scan Pro.
Apple has included scan applications in the OS. More complete information can be found here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docnam

Hi HowardGr1,
scanning more pages into one PDF file in MacOS 10.6 is very comfortable:
You import numbers of scans from Preview (in PDF format).
Then you will see the scanned files in Main window of Preview.app
In side panel of preview you will see the single pages.
Now just select them all, drag it onto the 1st page and drop it there.
The picture of first page (in side panel) should change and will look like a ring binder. Now only save the file (or save as different file).
The saved file should include all pages.
BTW: This does also work with any saved pdf file at your computer: Move it into one folder. Select all you want, open it with Preview and proceed like described.
