Hi sparehed,
You are using MacOS 10.6 (updated to 10.6.1)?
If so and you cannot see the "scan" tab right hand after selecting your printer in System preferences > Print and Fax it seems like installation of drivers failed or ane HP scan software (or rests of) are blocking the 10.6 drivers.
If you have a Hewlett-Packard folder in /Applications/ run HP Uninstaller. Then disconnect your printer (unplug usb) and turn printer off.
After completing uninstaller the Hewlett-P... folder should be gone.
If the Hewlett-P... folder would persist, move to Trash.
In any case you should also check following folders for any rests of HP stuff and remove it (if available!):
- /Library/Printers/. Remove "hp" folder.
- /Library/Frameworks/. Remove al subfolders "hp...".
- /Libraqry/LaunchAgents". Remove "com.hp...".
- /Library/StartupItems/. Remove any "HP ...".
- /Library/Image Capture/ Here look into every subfolder and remove any "HP..." items.
Reset printing system:
Go to System Preferences > Print and Fax.
Hold the option key on keyboard and click to "Minus" button in the bottom of printer list while holding the option key. Confirm to reset prnting system. Release key. Input your password.
Restart your mac.
Turn printer on. Connect the printer per USB directly to a usb port of your mac.
If software update will offer you to download and install software for your printer please agree and proceed.
If it will fail please come back with details.

Thanks reply. I am using Scanjet 3670 and would like to upgrade to Snow Leopard. I forgot to mention which Scanjet I use. It works with Leoaprd using Photosmart Studio as per HP suggestion, included Scan Pro. The link you gave I found it before and I don't understand if I can safely upgrade to Snow Leopard and my Scanjet 3670 scanning feature will work. I don't have Hp printers, just scanner.
Thanks for advice

To JNPMusic: You would not use the HP Scan Pro any longer as it is not compatible with 10.6 You would have to use one of the Apple application. Unfortunately though they were having trouble for you as well as the PSC2410 does not current have scan capability with Snow Leopard. It has a print driver only at the moment that is already in the operating system.
I dont have any information on if, or when a scan driver may be available for this unit with 10.6.

Thanks for the reply! I thought that it would be a little while before it was ready! I'll just have to wait it out....
Thanks again.

To Ferro: Sorry Ferro, I actually don't normally work with Scanjets so I dont have any special information. From that document and HPs website it appears you can continue to use the 10.5 applications partially until 10.6 software is released for these units. The only concern there is that your unit is not listed on the attached driver release schedule.
Meaning you may be able to continue using the old software thats carried over, but you could get stuck if you ever had to reinstall or it doesn't get updates down the road. As mentioned though I couldn't tell you much specifically, so unless someone who normally works with scanjets says otherwise, I'd personally probably hold off for now.
