Sorry, scanner could not be initialized. (Scanner not found.)

Hi there,

I followed your procedures, but I am still encountering a problem with Scan Pro--the error message still reads "Sorry, scanner could not be initialized. (Scanner not found.)"

I recent got a new iMac running Lion.  I have a Photosmart  C4180 Allin one scanner copier.  HP Device Manager works with my account but not with other accounts on the computer.  Other accounts have the HP device Manager avaiable but when you open the program and try to scan it says the scanner is not found(can not be initalized).  The device is shown on the Printer Scanner System Preferecnes and works with image capture.

This is the first time I've tried scanning since I installed Snow Leopard on my Mac.  My printer is the HP psc 2410 photosmart

I have HP 5590 scaner and yesterday did not work, I install againg the sofware but still don't work, how can I fixed?....

So if you are an HP employee can you answer this...

My HP Scanner 4370 has been working whenever it feels like on my OSX 10.5.8

It was working fine up until recently now it will not initialize at all....

I tired all the updates ueverything I never ever had any problems with any

of my HP equipment! In fact my last scanner was from HP an old Dinasaur

that was still good until HP stopped macking the driver for the Mac...

So what am I suppose to do? How can I fix this problem?

I have tried the scrub method with my PS C5580 running on OS X 10.7.5 and it did not work. The scanner is still not being initialized.

I did everything DJChocoKay said and it worked! I also couldn't use the HP software but used Image Capture instead.

I followed the exact advice to re-set the printer but still not work. My printer is HP DeskLet F4180, Mine is  Mac OS X 10.5.8  I even re-install the original driver from http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-56704-2&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&...

The printer still not connected to my Mac with  the message "Error sorry, scanner coudl not be initialized".  Please advise. Thank you.
