There seems to be a lot of confusion around HP printers and drivers and I was confused as my printer didn't work after the Snow Leopard install. In other forums many users are experiencing the same.
I heard back from HP tech support and the drivers are on the Snow Leopard disk. Apple walked me through it and all we did was run optional install, choose all printer drivers and after it installed went into the pref panel printer and fax and uninstalled and added the printer.
It works perfectly now.
The Apple Tech support person thought this might not have been picked up as my printer was plugged into a hub as it was supposed to happen automatically. I must admit when I did the Snow Leopard install customize I only remember thinking I need to add Rosetta but since I did it Friday night I can't quite remember.
So now I basically have a fully function OSX 10.6 machine with just one piece of software that needs updating.
