Unable to Completely Scan Legal Size Documents with Officejet Pro 8600 Plus

I am trying scan legal sized documents on my new Officejet Pro 8600 Plus. I have reviewed the forums, and this has been a recurring problem in the past (see link---  http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Scanning-Faxing-and-Copying/Scanning-Legal-Size-Documents/m-p/35416#M14...   ), but does not appear to be resolved. Whether I use the document feeder or the glass, the document is cut off at the bottom, and appears to be stopping at the 'A4' size, vs. legal. I cannot locate any setting on the scanner itself, or in the HP Utility software to change this, or even to be able to identify the current setting, if it is one.

I am using a Mac Pro, system 10.6.8, just installed and started using the printer a couple of days ago, and everything is up to date software-wise. Everything else on this machine has been working beautifully.

Can anyone identify what's going on here and how to correct it?

Thanks for your help--I specifically chose this particular unit over the next model down due to the legal sized glass/bed, and if I can't use it to scan legal docs, well, that's a problem. Thanks for your help!

Re: Unable to Completely Scan Legal Size Documents with Officejet Pro 8600 Plus

Hello,

Please try the following steps:

1. Open the HP Utility and select your device.
2. From Scan Settings open the "Scan to Computer".
3. Click the "Scan Tasks" tab.
4. Select the Scan Shortcut used to scan, then click Edit.
5. In the section of Scan from an HP Device click on the blue triangle to enlarge the menu.
6. From the enlarged menu now open the drop-down menu next to Crop To and set as None.
7. Click OK and try scanning again.

Please let me know of any change,
Shlomi

Thank you! I had been to that spot in the HP Utility, but had not found that particular path/setting. Works perfectly now, and your response is much appreciated for its clarity, and for its timeliness.

Thanks again!

Re: Unable to Completely Scan Legal Size Documents with Officejet Pro 8600 Plus

I cannot locate the "Scan tasks" tab on my printer. I go to the Scan icon. Then push the Computer icon. I Select Computer and push the USER (USB) icon. All that comes up is the six options of how you want to scan it: Save as PDF, etc. Any ideas how I can fix my printer? I also bought this printer for the capability for scanning legal documents.

Re: Unable to Completely Scan Legal Size Documents with Officejet Pro 8600 Plus

8600 cuts off legal documents.  Shlomil's posting on 2/9/12 does not sound right.  He says to start by "Open the HP Utility."  Where's that?  The printer icon?  The printers icon on MS?  Start where exactly?
