Unsupported operating system

This is the message i get when I tried to download the driver for my HP Deskjet F2280 on my MAC OS 10.3, the problem is that I can't find another driver for this MAC. I already have the printer installed but because of a problem with my MAC the scanner will not work as the Manager has been deleted so I figured that the best thing to do was reinstall the driver. can anyone help me get my scanner back please!!

Re: Unsupported operating system

10.3? Really? I don't think this operating system is supported with this printer. It's probably time to update your OS.

Re: Unsupported operating system

I have been using this printer on the same computer for a couple of years BUT funnily enough when I open up the printer utility box(it still prints it is just the scanner facility which has gone) it says that it is F2200 which is not what is written on the printer!! I have lost the original CD which came with the printer (which by the way I brought in Egypt so it could be anything!!!) Another thing is that the MAC is actually Mac OSX version 10.5.8, sorry my mistake, didn't know where to look properly for that info. So now I have cleared that up is there any advice you can give please?

Re: Unsupported operating system

OK, good, 10.5.8 is a good place to be.

First, let's uninstall all of the HP software on your Mac:

Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard/ click on HP Uninstaller
Click on Continue
Highlight your device on the left pane
Press and hold Control + Alt + Cmd keys on the keyboard simultaneously while you click on Uninstall <<<< This IS the Scrubber Option, there is no button labeled "Scrubber"
There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall ALL hp software. (At this point, if you continue, any HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
Click Continue and let it finish

Restart your Mac

Now reset the printing system:

- Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
- Right (control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!

Finally, get the latest software for your printer from the "Support & Drivers" link at the top of this page.
