Won't scan in color

We have a Photosmart 6510-B211a with an iMac using the Mac OS 10.7.4 that will no longer scan documents in color, only B&W.  All product updates have been installed.  We see no settings as with copies to allow B&W or color but everything that is scanned as a document, PDF, comes out in B&W only.  If scanned as photo to file, it scans in color.  We find no help in the online support area.  How can we get it to scan documents in color again?
