can't connect 6500 all-in-one

I'm having issues connecting an Officejet 6500A (Officejet 6500 E710n-z). It's on the wireless network, and at one point, oh so momentarily, the iMac saw it (OS X 10.7). I can't get my ancient macbook to see it any longer either. The printer is on and connected and works with other PCs in the house. I tried to install the software without it seeing the printer, which installed, but it still won't see it. I can access the printer via its IP address, but when I attempt to set it up that way (adding an IP printer using its address), it returns the error message

An error occurred while trying to add the selected printer.

Any ideas?

Re: can't connect 6500 all-in-one

Hi

Please perform the below step on your printer touch screen to print the network configuration page

Touch the right arrow -- touch the wrench icon -- touch Report -- Touch Network configuration page

please check the IP address and Network Name from printed configuration page

To check the connectviity between the Mac and printer

open new web browser -- type the IP address in the address bar and hit enter, if you are able to open printer information page in the Mac, then it means the connectivity is established if not

then click on Wireless Strength icon from right side top of your Mac computer screen -- check which network Name got the check mark, select the Home network

If still the issue presists then please perform the below step

Turn OFF the Printer -- turn OFF the Router, wait for few seconds, then turn ON the Router First and then Printer

Open Print and Scan window, and do the below step to remove printer entries from Print and Scan

Press and hold the Control key from keyboard, while holding the Contorl key, click on the printer entry listed in the left side pane of Print and Scan window -- select Reset Printing System, all printer entry will be vanished from the left side pane of Print and Scan window

Then try to add the Bonjour Multifunction printer in Print and Scan window

Open Print and Scan window

(Click on Apple icon -- System Prefeence -- Print and Scan )

Click on the Plus sign, wait for few minutes you will see printer listed as Bonjour Multifunction under Kind

Select it and then click on Add

Try to print

Regards
Justin

Re: can't connect 6500 all-in-one

Alright, it was connected. it's now saying that it is not connected when I try to print and in the printer settings. However, I can go to the printer's IP address page and it says it is connected, and I can print the test page from there. I tried resetting the printer & network again and it didn't do much. (It still works with the other computers--PCs--that were previously connected to it)
