connect apple OS Lion 10.7 to HP officejet 6500

OS Lion downloads files to set up printer. All appears to connect. when sending  message to print it is put on hold requesting authorization. HOW DO I GET THIS. Thanks

Hi

you did not mention how the printer is connected to Mac via USB or wireless

 

Please connect printer to Mac via USB cable

click on the below web link, then cilck on Download

Once download is complete, you will see HP Installer or OPen, click on Open, then click on HP Installer

Select I Agree from license Agreement, and then select Printer listed as USB, select HP Recommended software

Follow on screen instruction to insall printer software driver

Select Continue from HP Setup Assistant window -- select printer listed as USB -- select Configure wireless -- click on Next -- enter your Home Network Name -- enter password or WEP key of your home network, click on Continue

You will get the prompt to disconnect printer USB cable from Mac, then disconnect printer USB cable and then click on Continue.

Click on Add Printer, wait for few seconds, you will see printer listed as Bonjour Multifunction under kind

select it and then click on Add

Select Register later from Registration window

click on Continue

Then try to print from Mac

 

 

Please perform the below step on the printer touch screen, if you see bluelight steady glowing on the printer touch screen

 

Touch the right arrow -- touch Wrench icon -- web Service Menu -- Product updates -- check for Updates
