horizontal lines on brand new 6500a

I replaced my workhorse 722c because of horizontal lines on pictures (and violet text)

Well on my brand new 6500a, 3/4 down the page on my first color print  the horizontal lines totally hid the picture (on the left side). When I looked closer at the rest of the page I also saw horizontal lines. Since it is NEW!!! I have not used it that much. But I did make ONE color copy and it was beautiful.  I called the store, and they said to contact you. As far as I am concerned it is BAD, and needs to be replaced. I do have 2 year warrenty on it.

What is your take.
