Macbook Pro i5 OS X Lion 10.7

I bought this printer, and the store told me, that it works with all mac's, and when I try to install on my MAC, I can't do it, because, the software included it does not support X Lion 10.7.

What can I do?

I cant' return the product to the store

Hi,

Make sure the printer directly connected to your Mac by USB or network connection, then follow the installation below:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL41266/lj-100563-1/HP_Lion_LJ_SW_v12.13.26.dmg

For wireless connection simply connect the USB and follow the installation. the wireless configuration will appear during the installation steps.

My CP1525NW works 100% with Lion but i am unable to get it to print in monochrome on any of my machines (all running the latest version of Lion). I have done software updates but i can not find where to get the printer to default to monochrome nore where to manually change it. 99% on my printing is done in mono and i only need colour for the occasional print job.

Please help.

When you start a print job (File > Print or Command-P), click the Show Details button along the bottom.  Use the Presets pulldown to see if there is a preset for this..

If not, use the lowest pulldown on the window and choose Paper Type/Quality.

Thank you for this - it does work. Is there a way to get the printer to default to black and white and to print colour only when needed?

Once you select the mode you want to be default, print with that mode.  You can also "Save current settings as Preset" under the Preset pulldown.

Presets are "sticky" in Snow Leopard and Lion, in other words, the preset you last used will become the default until you change it.

The advice here certainly helps but i still cant find a way to print in monochrome by default. I am now printing Word and Excel docs in Mono but as soon as an application like Chrome needs to print electronic waybills, there are no printing options to change (or none that i can see) and they print in colour.

My darker side thinks this may be HP's way of selling more toner cartridges (PS : i have just been told by the printer that it needs a new black cartridge after 640 pages and the colour cartridges are 1/2 done at 400 pages!!!).

Do HP still ship 1/2 empty cartridges with new printers or is this the sort of performance i'll get from all cartridges with my LaserJet? If so this is not a cheap printer to run...

Lastly the email to print function is great. Send an email to you printer from anywhewre inthe world and it prints on the printer.
