It works fine on my PC but not my MacBook Pro

Please clarify the issue you are facing.

 

What Mac OS X version are you using?

 

I assume you installing the printer via the network. please clarify otherwise.

 

Any specific behavior while trying to scan?

I keep getting no scan options ---AND---

 

that my deskjet 4500 is NOT multi utility.. 

 

What gives.. I came back to HP due to excessive issues with Brand X- NOW I get them with you too !!
