So Image Capture, Preview, and Printer & Fax in the System Settings does not allow for a multiple page doucment scan option.

i've just bought this printer and exactly the same thing happened. i uninstalled then downloaded the latest version of the software. i'm running MAC OSX 10.6. now, when i open the HP utility programme it cannot even find my printer. this is really, really irritating. i thought this was an easy plug in and off you go kind of product. i've wasted three hours trying to get it to work. i can print a document, say from word for example. but i bought this printer as i needed a scanner too. and there's no customer service to call or e-mail, just this forum. not a good customer experience.

If you read the thread, you will see where I posted that we are working on the solution to this problem. The patch should be available on hp.com very soon. Chech the downloads page for your product.

I am having the same problem. When do you think you will have it fixed. I scan alot and might have to take my machine back if it is not soon.

I'm having the same problem as all the others. I'm tired of having to unplug this thing anytime I want to use it. You have sent multiple updates the software. Who do I contact for a refund? The seller won't tough it.

Same problem here. Very annoying, I would imagine this is happening to every Mac user...common HP when is this fix coming...?!? I'm sure this will be the last HP scanner I'll be buying...

Thanks MBJustice, but you may have noticed that I started this thread in Novemeber last year, and have since read every post in the hope that a fix was found. Unfortunately, it has taken months for HP to understand that there is a problem at all - despite numerous post telling them so - yet still no solution has been offered.
Your quick responce to my previous message asking me to read the thread I had started is indicative of HP customer care - based on the the assumption that HP cutomers are idiots, offered with thinly disguised hostility and wholly innefectual.
This is the last HP product I will buy. A small team of well trained mokeys, some tracing paper and a couple of crayons would be more use to me as a scanner, and would probably be considered the cutting edge of thechnology by HP staff.

i did read the entire thread. i didn't see anyone on it say that the HP Utility didn't work and not recognise my printer. i wrote: now, when i open the HP utility programme it cannot even find my printer.
