i have a photosmart c309a & it has stopped printing correctly

[ Edited ]

I have a photosmart C309a, and a Mac computer.  I have a OS x 10.5.8  When i try to print something from my email, i cant get the printer to work.

I do not get any error messages.   The printer will start to print but only prints 4 words at the top of the page.   Those words are From:, Subject:, Date: and Tme:.  The rest of the page is blank. The box under the orientation area says:Mail.

I can get it to print only if there is an enclosure that i can open up like a coupon. & then the box under the orientation area says Safari.

I have tried to print the printer status reports, but all i get are boxes with no words in them. The colors print well.

All i get are colored lines & boxes.

Re: i have a photosmart c309a & it has stopped printing correctly

Let's reset the printing system:

- Go to System Preferences > Print & Fax
- Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
- Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.
