I cannot get the scan to function either way between my iMac (OS 10.8) and my Envy 110.

Download and install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907
Restart your Mac.
Reset the printing system:
- Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
- Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
- Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.

Is the printer connected wirelessly? In that case I recommend scanning FROM your Mac. Use Image Capture in the Applications folder.

Yep its connected wirelessly - that's why I specifically purchsed it.
I want to have the ability to scan FROM the scanner not from my imac.
Kinda defeats the purpose of having a touch pad on the scanner.
Using Image Capture is a long winded way to scan and takes way more time to do rather than direct from the scanner.
It used to be possible until I bought an imac and have it running OSX 10.8.2.
As I say, I need it to scan form the scanner, can you help?

Download and install this: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloa
Look around in the printer software settings to enable Scan to Computer (not sure where it is, sorry).

Sometimes this can be router-dependent. What brand/model router are you using?

Its not a router problem - my laptop can connect Ok and the scanners can scan FROM the scanner to the laptop.
I have a feeling the problem lies with osx10.8.2.
The router is a Virgin Media Super Hub made by netgear.
Any other ideas?

If you restart the router by unplugging its power cord momentarily, does it then work? This may be an issue with Bonjour support in the router.
