What version of OS X?   How is your printer connected?  If network, what router?

Re: is there HP Print and Scan Doctor for Macs

OK, great, thanks for that.

First, download and install this: http://support.apple.com/downloads/HP_Printer_Driver_1_1_1

Restart your Mac.

Now, Reset the printing system:

- Go to System Preferences > Print & Fax
- Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
- Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it. Wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.

Re: is there HP Print and Scan Doctor for Macs

I reinstalled the printer - according to your instructions - but there still is NO way for me to micro adjust the printer.  There is NO program available to me for this.  Which is what my problem was;  it always printed and printed photos but the only two options I have are 300 b&w  and  150 color -  hp utility doesnt allow be to adjust anything on the printer that tweaks the photo

Re: is there HP Print and Scan Doctor for Macs

When you start a print job with File > Print or command-P, on the resulting page click the triange next to the printer name until it is pointing up.

Now, on the lowest pull down option, look for Advanced Print Options.  It has been so long since I used 10.5, I don't remember the exact wording, sorry.

Have you considered upgrading to 10.6?

Re: is there HP Print and Scan Doctor for Macs

as to 10.5  - that is the only thing that works on my old G5 mac;  I hope to afford a new AirBook soon but until then stuck with this

the triangle only has two options 150 color and 300 gray nothing elso shows up

again what does your softwear Print and Scan do? that is NOT available for macs

Did you do the lowest pulldown on the print window?  It sounds like you clicked the triange and just used the Presets pull-down, that is not what I am talking about.

The Print and Scan Doctor is a Windows-specific program that fixes all of the complicated processes that happen in the background with HP printers on Windows machines.

An almost-equivalent process on the Mac is Resetting the Printing System, which is built-in.
