laserjet cp2025, apple 10.7.3 printer driver. can't install driver through software update, usb

I was having issues connecting to the printer wirelessly. It has previously been fine. I have it connected to my TimeCapsule by ethernet. As I said, I could previously connect. When I couldn't figure out what was going on, I figured I'd try deleting and reinstalling the driver. When I tried to set up the printer though System Preferences I get an error message saying that Apple Software Update can't find the driver through Software Update and to contact the printer manufacturer.

I found the software driver for previous versions of the OS, but not for 10.7. I thought that I'd try downloading that and loading it from there. It seems to install, but when I try adding the printer again through System Preferences it still goes online to try and find the drivers. I've tried to manually connect it through the IPv4 as well....I'm stumped.

Oh I also tried to connect it by USB as well, and that was also a failure. Any thoughts?

Hi,

The software for your printer available through Apple Software Update only.

In order to bypass the software update failure, follow the steps below:

1. Temporary plug the printer by USB.
2. Click the Apple Icon, then click Software Update.
   I believe the HP Update will be located and installed with no issue by using this way rather then retrieving it while adding the printer.
3. Once the Update installation completed, unplug the USB.
4. Click the Plus sign and add the printer.

If the Update still fails, download the HP Printer Drivers package below:

http://support.apple.com/downloads/DL907/en_US/HewlettPackardPrinterDrivers.dmg

Then add the printer under Print & Scan.

Thank you for your reply. I did try plugging it in to the USB and by adding the driver package manually. I still haven't been able to get it to connect....I will try the USB connection again and confirm the error message. Same with the manual download. Very frustrating.
