Re: m276nw scanner not discovered in mac os 10.9

Hi Jespinal,

I see by your post that the printer isn't being recognized for scanning.
I will be happy to help you.

Find out what the printer name shows.
Click the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences.
Click Printers & Scanners, highlight the printer on the left column and look for the name of the driver installed on the right side of the window.
If it says Airprint, delete the driver and add a new one with the printers name.

(you might have to click the drop down to select the printer name)

On the router the scanning ports need to be open. You can contact the router company to check and open these ports 9220/9500/427 on the router.

Here is a document for How to Scan: OS X v10.9.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.
Have a nice day!

Re: m276nw scanner not discovered in mac os 10.9

Thanks for the answer, after clicking +Sign, then click on default there is nothing there to select.

I can add this printer by using IP and HP Jectdirect Socket.  This way I could print but not scan.

I have already installed Drivers  by using this package HP-LaserJet-SW-OSX-Mavericks_v12.34.45.dmg.

I have reinstalled the drivers several times, I have delete all other printers includeing HP Office jet 7410 (Was working very good to print and scan), also delete Toshiba E233. Then reinstalled  the drivers and I could not get a different result.

Then I reset the printing system, reinstalled the drivers, and at the end I got to the same spot, printing but not scanning.

Re: m276nw scanner not discovered in mac os 10.9

Hi Jespinal,

If you are not able to add the printer by the default button then you need to make sure the router supports bonjour packets and can do multicasting. You can contact your router company for this information.

On the router these scanning ports need to be open:

9220

9500

427

Try selecting jet direct instead of direct socket to see if that will allow you to scan.

Try scanning from Apple Image Capture Software.

Let me know how you make out.

Thank You.

Re: m276nw scanner not discovered in mac os 10.9

As the Printer IP address  is 192.168.1.7 and my MAC OS IP is in the range of 192.168.1.100-150 there is no router involved, but of course there is an access point, and the access point do not block any port at all.

I have already use the IP and Jet Direct but the scanner do not appear in Image capture and it does not appear on  HP SCAN.

Re: m276nw scanner not discovered in mac os 10.9

Hi Jespinal,

Thank you for providing the details of the IP addresses.

The printer will also have to be setup in the range of 192.168.1.100-150.

I would setup a static IP for the printer.

Printer Does Not Maintain a Wireless Connection.

Go to Solution three: Assign the printer a static IP address.

What kind of access point are you using? (extender)

Do you have Mac filtering?

Thank You.

Re: m276nw scanner not discovered in mac os 10.9

Dear Sr.

Given that the network is 192.168.1.X  the printer could be any IP  from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.254,  it is now 192.168.1.6 (fixed IP address). No reason to get the printer inthe range 192.168.1.100-150 becuase that range is administered by DHCP.  If I put the printer in that range evetually it would create a problem.

Please send any other suggestion.

Re: m276nw scanner not discovered in mac os 10.9

Hi Jespinal,

Did you turn off any firewalls before trying to add the bonjour printer.

Please provide the following so I can assist you better.

Can you access the printer's embedded web server with the IP? (you should be able to since you can print)

What kind of access point are you using? (extender)

Do you have Mac filtering?

Thank You.

Re: m276nw scanner not discovered in mac os 10.9

There is no mac filtering, there has never been firewall in the middle of my mac and the printer.

As it works flawlessly on windows, I can send you access instructions by teamviewer so you can take a look:
