my hp desk jet f4480 will not print on my macbook pro.

it will print a test page, but when i try to print a document or webpage it asks me to add the printer and it won't print.  the error message that comes up says

 

"An error occurred while trying to add the selected printer.
successful-ok-ignored-or-substituted-attributes"

What version of OS X?  From where did you get your HP software?
