my hp photosmart 5510 all in one, won't let me scan anything on mac!

Hi, so my photosmart 5510 all in one lets me print but doesnt let me scan. It says " make sure scan is selected via options" . I have everything connected, everything installed and i dont know why it wont let me!

Hi,
Please make sure to update the latest driver:
Click the Apple Icon, then click Software Update.
Make sure to select any available HP Update.
Once done, try scanning again and check for any change.
If the issue persists, please clarify how you are trying to scan: From the Front Panel, From HP Scan 3, Webscan or from the Print & Scan dialog.
Additionally, is it connected by USB or network?

Hi
May I know the Mac OS version you are using , 10.6 or 10.7
How the printer is connected to Mac via USB or wireless?
If wireless, are you able to print from Mac wirelessly?
